The Esoteric Theology of Philip K. Dick

This volume collects chapters written to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Philip K. Dick's transformative 1974 mystical experiences, through which he ultimately contextualized his influential and posthumously much-adapted science fiction. Contributing authors examine the enduring significance of PKD through diverse scholarly perspectives that engage seriously with his self-understanding as Christian, gnostic, mystic, and theologian.

The collection challenges the frequent misconception of Dick as exclusively relevant to countercultural Gnostic mysticism. Instead, his esoteric Christian gnosis is identified and analyzed as the basis of his ultimately moral and consistently humanistic theology.

Philip K. Dick's Omega Point

This monograph examines Philip K. Dick's engagement with Pierre Teilhard de Chardin's theology — particularly the concept of the Omega Point — drawing primarily from Dick's Exegesis. While Dick references Chardin and the Omega Point several times, the connection remains underexplored in Dickian scholarship. The volume maps the extent of Dick's reading of Chardin and investigates how he makes use of and expands Chardin's eschatological framework.
